I make it a point to ensure that my fitness routine is totally well-rounded; I try to dabble in a bit of everything, always keeping my body guessing. That's one of the reason's I'm adding April's DVD to Advanced Workouts. It's not similar in structure to Mark Blanchard's Progressive Power Yoga, which is a good thing in its own right. I love Mark's workout, but I also love this one -- but for completely different reasons. While Progressive Power Yoga (and the other yoga titles such as Flexible Warrior) focus more on power, agility, and athletic moves, April's workout focuses more on the spiritual cleansing aspect of yoga. I do this workout on my light days -- not so much to get my heart pumping and my muscles burning (although you'll definitely still feel the muscle work, and as expected the Sun Salutations get the heart rate up), but as a way to refresh my mind and my spirit. It's a great addition to my fitness routine, and I find that after doing a workout like TRANSFORMATION, I'm able to put forth more focus and energy into my high-impact routines, getting more out of them than ever before.
